Favorites & recent items

Favorites

Users can favorite visible projects and visible saved issue queries. Favorites never change membership, project visibility, or query behavior. Unsaved ad-hoc issue filters are not offered.

Add and use favorites

1. Open a visible project overview and use the favorite action to add or remove that project.
2. For an issue filter, save the query in Redmine first, open the saved query, and then use the favorite action. Temporary filters without a saved query_id cannot be favorited.
3. Open the favorite project or query list, or use the corresponding My Work block, to return to the saved destination.

The action stores only a personal reference. It does not subscribe the user, add project membership, make a private query public, or freeze the query criteria.

Recently visited work

Opening issue details or project overviews updates a personal recent list instead of creating duplicates. Administrators retain 5, 10, or 20 items and independently control sidebar visibility.

How recent history is built

• An issue is recorded when its detail page is opened; a project is recorded when its overview is opened.
• Opening the same item again updates its visit time and moves it to the newest position instead of creating a duplicate.
• The configured limit is applied per user and per history type.
• Hiding a recent-items sidebar block does not stop tracking and does not remove the full list or My Work block.

If an item disappears

The item may have been deleted, fallen outside the retained limit, or become invisible through normal Redmine project or issue permissions. Restoring visibility allows current records to appear again when revisited.
